Non-destructive testing (NDT) is a wide group of analysis techniques used in science and industry to
evaluate the properties of a material, component or system without causing damage.
• Provide insurance and safety for those working out in the oilfield.
• Conduct various testing's such as magnetic particle and dye penetrant.
• Clean all tools by buffing them and scrubbing all outer and inside diameters of each piece
• Conduct a series of testing depending on either the customers Standard Operating Procedures or that of
Professional NDT's.
• Determines whether to blacklight M/T or use dye penetrant P/T.
• Check each individual piece for cracks, fatigue, washing, scarring and any damage that can be
potentially fatal or stop progress in the field.
• All work performed is from the DS-1.
Once completed all work is written up for each piece examined and is determined to be a failure or
runnable according to the specifications.
• Use of calipers: OD/ID: Dial calipers, XT calipers: Engineer scale: Dummy stick: Grinders 4" and 6":
White light meter, UV meter, gauss meter, DC coil, AC coil, Variat coil, UV blacklight and a Yoke,
micrometers(minimal).
